AI and AI-assisted tools have been rapidly adopted in research and publishing, offering significant benefits while requiring clear standards for responsible and transparent use.

These guidelines aim to provide transparency for authors, reviewers and editors.

Editorial Board will monitor developments in this area and will update guidelines as technologies and standards evolve.

For authors

Authors who use AI or AI-assisted tools on any stage of the process of preparation the manuscript, must be transparent in Declaration of AI (statement at the end of their manuscript, before the Reference list):

“Declaration of AI: The authors declare that they have used AI or AI-assisted tools during the preparation of this manuscript. The following sections were augmented by AI or AI-assisted tools: (please specify exactly which sections of the paper have been modified with AI or AI-assisted tools, e.g. introduction, literature review, etc. and what kind of modifications have been done to them, e.g. language check and correction, editing and formatting, figure generation, other). The authors confirm that the use of AI or AI-assisted tools complies with the ethical standards of their institution(s) and the journal Modern Management Review. The authors acknowledge that while AI or AI-assisted tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript, the responsibility for the final content and the conclusions drawn in this manuscript rests entirely with the authors. The authors have reviewed and edited the output and take full responsibility for the content of this publication.

Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, even those parts supported by AI or AI-assisted tools, and are thus liable for any breach of publication ethics. AI or AI-assisted tools cannot be used to create, alter or manipulate original research data and results, such as images, photographs and measurements. AI or AI-assisted tools cannot be credited as an author of a published work.

For reviewers

Reviewers should not use AI or AI-assisted tools during the preparation of review reports and during any part of the reviewing process. In particular, reviewers should not upload a submitted manuscript or any part of it into AI or AI-assisted tools due to the risk of violating the authors’ confidentiality or data privacy rights.

For editors

Journal Editors (Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Board Members, Issue Editors) should not use AI or AI-assisted tools during the editorial review or decision-making. In particular, editors should not upload a submitted manuscript or any part of it into AI or AI-assisted tools due to the risk of violating the authors’ confidentiality or data privacy rights.
