The dominant activity of the company is the Tier 1 and OEM sector of the automotive industry worldwide, with particular specialization in the production of e-mobility batteries, lights, air conditioning hoses, engine cooling systems, powertrain, dampers and gas springs. The company has its own Research and Development Center (ministerial status of the R&D Center from 2021), experienced engineering team and good production infrastructure. The practical experience and knowledge gathered in cooperation with global customers, especially in the dampers and gas springs industry, have determined that the Company has decided to increase its technological level in this area. This study is an overview of the Company's most important machines and lines intended for the global Tier 1 market of dampers and gas springs manufacturers. The presented list includes the results of work on the R&D project POIR.01.02.00-00-0056/18-00 – “Development of a product innovation in the form of an innovative technological line for the assembly and testing of dampers and gas springs, for use by international manufacturers of components at the Tier 1 level in the automotive industry”.
Robert Tomasiewicz Copyright (c) 2025 Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu (Assembly Techniques and Technologies) https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1771 Tue, 25 Mar 2025 08:33:37 +0000 Device for automatic accuracy control of dial indicator readings https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1716
The authors present a research method and a prototype of a system for automatic accuracy control of manual measuring instrument readings. Most commonly used measuring instruments, such as dial indicators and bore gauges, require periodic accuracy control. The developed system is intended for control automation, minimising potential human errors connected with manual control and visual assessment of readings. The precise mechatronic actuators, measurement systems, and control software used in the system enable automatic execution of standard control procedures in accordance with the formal recommendations of the Central Office of Measures. The scientific and research results obtained will serve the development of methods for processing and analysing measurement data.
Tomasz Samborski, Andrzej Zbrowski, Stanisław Kozioł Copyright (c) 2025 Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu (Assembly Techniques and Technologies) https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1716 Tue, 25 Mar 2025 08:37:48 +0000 Analysis and Modeling of Design Problems in the Context of Random Technological Changes https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1757
This paper presents a comprehensive methodology for modeling and analyzing complex design problems amidst random technological changes, developed through nearly three decades of international industrial research and practice. The evolution of design tools from traditional drawing boards in the 1980s to advanced 3D CAD systems today, combined with the author’s extensive global work experience, has informed this methodology. The proposed approach involves four critical phases: data collection, envisioning solutions, translating vision into computer models, and system implementation and refinement. Central to this methodology is the consideration of time as the main parameter for describing reality and random phenomena. By understanding time not only as a linear measure but as a multidimensional variable influencing all aspects of design and technological processes, the methodology addresses the inherent unpredictability and variability in modern engineering contexts. This method is designed to adapt to dynamic social, technical, economic, and legal conditions, ensuring robustness and flexibility. The paper concludes with a discussion on how this methodology can be seamlessly integrated into both workplace practices and educational curricula, emphasizing the importance of historical data and continuous improvement for future technological advancements.
Paweł Knast Copyright (c) 2025 Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu (Assembly Techniques and Technologies) https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1757 Tue, 25 Mar 2025 08:40:22 +0000 Requirements for IT systems for automatic marking of mechanical products in assembly processes https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1849
In many industries there is an obligation to mark the product. In case of mechanical products, such marks are most often applied to products by labelling, as well as mechanical and laser engraving. When marking, employees must remember to change the configuration of the marking machine in case of a change in the type (reference) of the product to be marked. Especially in case of products produced in short production runs, there can be mistakes made by employees and unnecessary time wasted on reconfiguring the marking machine. Therefore, IT applications supporting marking according to the selection of a product from a list or automatically based on the plan of the marked products are gaining importance. This article describes the requirements for computerised systems aimed at supporting the automatic marking of mechanical products in assembly processes.
Jarosław Chrobot Copyright (c) 2025 Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu (Assembly Techniques and Technologies) https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1849 Tue, 25 Mar 2025 08:43:12 +0000 The method of detecting leaks in pneumatic actuators on the example of a selected production system https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1885
Compressed air is a very important energy medium in industrial processes. Maintained at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure, it is one of the most commonly used working mediums. Leaks in pneumatic systems, inappropriate pressure, improper use of components, etc. are responsible for losses of produced compressed air. Pneumatic actuators, which are key in this respect, are exposed to internal and external leaks, which leads to an increase in their extension and retraction time, a decrease in the force achieved on the piston rod, and in the case of large leaks - to their stopping, causing a failure and necessary downtime of the machine or the entire production line. The article addresses the problem of leaks in pneumatic actuators used within automated production systems. The specificity of operation of pneumatic actuators, problems with their leaks, and available methods of their detection are discussed. For the needs of the tested production system, an original method for detecting leaks in pneumatic actuators was developed, the operation of which was verified using a simulation model in the Simulink environment. The performed analysis allowed to confirm the correctness of the developed method.
Andrzej Loska, Artur Macha Copyright (c) 2025 Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu (Assembly Techniques and Technologies) https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1885 Tue, 25 Mar 2025 08:45:18 +0000 Artificial intelligence-based design of assemblies in the FreeCAD software https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1889
The article presents application of the FreeCAD software and generative artificial intelligence (AI) in the design process regarding exemplary mechanical engineering-related assemblies. Authors have studied how to support a product development and computer-aided (CAD) design phase by the use of generative pre-trained transformer (GPT). Prompting process, that lead to Python language-based code creation in the ChatGPTTM by OpenAI company, was studied from the perspective of 3D assemblies generation in the FreeCAD software. Moreover, authors studied how to improve the basic 3D models by the use of text-based prompts and CAD user improvements of the solid models and discussed the general effectiveness of this approach. It was also separately studied how to automate creation of many parts of the same type by the use of the AI, and apply such CAD libraries in the developed assemblies. The performed research presented selected possibilities of AI-based design process, challenges of the design process and future areas of investigation of AI-based assembly development resulting from the usage of existing GPTs.
Roman Wdowik, Artur Bełzo Copyright (c) 2025 Technologia i Automatyzacja Montażu (Assembly Techniques and Technologies) https://journals.prz.edu.pl/tiam/article/view/1889 Tue, 25 Mar 2025 08:49:11 +0000
