Aims & Scope

Advances in Mechanical and Materials Engineering encompasses all aspects of the field, with the emphasis placed on:

  • mechanical engineering,
  • materials science,
  • automation and robotics,
  • thermodynamics,
  • metallurgy,
  • production engineering,
  • aviation and astronautics.

The journal is interested in promoting the latest developments in the field of mechanics, mechanical engineering and materials science. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following: the theory and practice of elasticity, plasticity, fatigue and fracture mechanics, rheology,  manufacturing processes, joining techniques and mechanical systems. An important area of focus for the journal is materials science with a particular emphasis on metals and composite materials, including papers published on issues related to the description of their structure and properties as well as original methods for their manufacture.

The role of the journal is to be an effective forum that is a vehicle for the latest technological, material and design solutions, leading to greater cooperation between academics and the business community.

From a purely academic point of view, disseminating research results in a journal will facilitate the scientific development of university staff, including young researchers.
