Abstract

Renewable energy is an area on which it focuses a lot of scientific activities, and its use is enforced by the emerging legislation. New buildings must have at least one source of renewable energy. This forces an emphasis on the creation of new laboratories, which are determined the basic characteristics of renewable energy sources. One of the most popular sources of renewable energy is a panel consisting of polycrystalline cells. Determination of its basic characteristics and parameters in laboratory conditions requires the use of artificial lighting to replace the natural conditions. One of the light sources that can be used in laboratory tests is an halogen source. The article shows the test stand containing halogen lights to the exposures two panels. Test panels consisting of polycrystalline cells were charged with adjustable resistances with high power. As a result of the implementation of the measurements the basic characteristics describing the test panels have been plotted. The characteristics of current-voltage for different values of irradiation, referred to the effect of temperature on the relationship under voltage panels, having made the measurement of different lighting angle to the surface of the panels have been achieved. The conducted studies have helped to establish the correctness of the results obtained on the basis of confrontation with manuals provided by the manufacturer of the panels. The working protective diode panels by observation of the influence of partial shading of each section links have been verified. The characteristics for different connection configuration panels have been shown. The serial and parallel connection of a panels in order to plot characteristics helpful in setting up the plant have been corrected. The studies show that the determination of the main characteristics in the laboratory with halogen light is sufficient to assess the energy efficiency of the panels.
