Abstract

The riveted bonds are mainly used to join aircraft parts. Adhesives are used in hybrid rivet-adhesive joints to increase fatigue life or to seal the bonds. The researches were done to check what rivets layout determine strength and fatigue life of hybrid joints. Experimental tests and numerical calculations were made. The researches proved higher fatigue life (about five times) of hybrid joints with rivets situated close of specimen edges – closer than in typical rivet joints. The rivets should be so situated in hybrid joints to obtain failure both adhesive layer and rivets at the same time.
