Abstract

In this paper was presented the principle of actuators powered by twisted nylon Þ bers. It describes in detail the properties of the nylon fibers used to build actuators and quoted the physical basis occurring in these processes contraction. Presented proprietary solutions conceptual design of the actuators. Also describes the types of connections used in the assembly in the construction of actuators powered by Twisted Nylon Fibres (SWN) and potential applications for this power source.
