Abstract

The paper presents the results of its own studies, which aim was to compare the load capacity of the overlay joints used in the construction of aircraft airframe made of polymer composite materials. The elements were connected by adhesive joints and mechanical and hybrid (adhesive – mechanical) joints. The study used items prepared on the basis of prepreg carbon technology autoclaves and elements prepared from carbon fabric and saturant MGS L285. It has been found that the load capacity of the hybrid connection greatly depends on the mounting geometry of the mechanical elements in cover joint, and that the use of mechanical fasteners with one hand reduces the load capacity of the joints, but on the other hand protects the structure against rapid destruction in the case of the decohesion of the adhesive joints.
