Aims & Scope
Chemical Technology & Biotechnology is a journal dedicated to publishing high-quality papers related to chemistry, chemical technology, chemical engineering and biotechnology as well as traditional subjects of organic, inorganic, analytical and physical chemistry. Journal is also accepting papers from the following fields: computational chemistry and biotechnology, theoretical chemistry, material chemistry, nanomaterials, environmental and green chemistry, polymer chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, surface chemistry and medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry, electrochemistry and all topics in applied chemistry. The submission of manuscripts in the multidisciplinary research fields at the interface of chemistry and other fields (chemical biology, materials science, nanotechnology) is also encouraged. In addition to full-length research articles and communications, Chemical Technology & Biotechnology also publishes review articles.
Chemical Technology & Biotechnology is committed to publishing original research in all areas of chemistry through a fair and rigorous review process. As a fully open access journal, we ensure that our research is highly discoverable and instantly available globally to everyone. Our peer-review process is double-blind, meaning that both the reviewers and the authors are anonymous to each other, ensuring impartiality and fairness in the review process. We also provide constructive feedback to authors, helping them to improve the quality and impact of their research. We adhere to the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and provide immediate open access to all articles published in our journal. This allows for greater visibility and impact of the research articles we publish, promoting greater collaboration and exchange of ideas among researchers and scientists worldwide. We also support the sharing and reuse of data, encouraging authors to make their data openly available, where possible.
Publishing House Rzeszów University of Technology does not charge authors for text submission and publication.
The Rzeszów University of Technology Publishing House guarantees that all publications of the magazine are stored for an indefinite period of time (at least 50 years) on the Rzeszów University of Technology servers dedicated to the needs of the PRz publishing house's journals.
Detailed description of the review process
After the initial review by the Editorial Office, the texts are sent to a chosen scientific editor for a review process coordination. The selected scientific editor selects independently reviewers (two reviewers or one in the case where he undertakes to carry out one review himself/herself) from among scientists working on the subject matter submitted for review of the publication.
The review procedure is anonymous. Authors and reviewers do not identify themselves (double-blind review process). The scientific editor on the issue of sending texts by the journal to reviewers and setting the deadline for their preparation. Reviews are submitted in written form and are submitted through the electronic system. If the reviews do not require the author to make substantive corrections, but only suggest minor editorial changes, the scientific editor of the journal issue sends the article to journal Secretary for publication on the web page.
If the review contains critical remarks, the scientific editor of the journal issue sends the appropriate information to the author, who makes the corrections. If the author does not agree with the reviewer's remarks, he or she is obliged to prepare a written response to the review.
Only texts with positive reviews may be sent for publication on the journal’s website. In the case of one positive and one negative review, the final decision to send the text for printing is made by the journal's Editorial Committee, which may appoint a third independent reviewer to get acquainted with the reviewer's opinion.
After the review procedure is completed, the scientific editor of the given issue of the journal notifies the authors of the texts about the acceptance or rejection of the article (in the latter case, no justification is provided).
The editor-in-chief of the journal supervises the compliance with the review procedure.
The reviews received are kept confidential by the journal secretary.
After responding to the comments of the Reviewers, the Author is obliged to send an updated text of the article and a correctly completed "Author's Statement" (available for download here) - in the case of texts without illustrations, a scan of the first two pages should be completed, signed, and sent to the editorial office's e-mail address.
