Publication Ethics and Publication Malpractice Statement
In order to implement ethical standards at the highest level, the procedures recommended by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) were implemented in the Modern Management Review.
All data collected in the publishing process are compliant with the RODO 2018 information clause.
Journal Modern Management Review published by the Publishing House of Rzeszow University of Technology fulfils requirements related to publishing policy that is defined in the following Policy document.
Open Access Policy
- An Open Access Policy for scientific journals published by the Publishing House of Rzeszow University of Technology can help ensure that research is freely available to anyone who wishes to read it:
- All articles published in the journal Modern Management Review are made available in full open access immediately upon. This means that anyone can read, download, copy, and distribute the articles without any restrictions or fees.
- The authors retain copyright of their work, but they are required to grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish the article under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY). This license allows others to distribute, remix, and build upon the work, even commercially, as long as they give credit to the original author(s).
- The journal makes its content available on its own website and through recognized open access repository: https://journals.prz.edu.pl/mmr/indeksacja.
- The journal requires authors to disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to their research, and will publish this information alongside their papers.

Ethics
An Ethics Policy for scientific journal Modern Management Review published by Publishing House of Rzeszow University of Technology can help ensure that research is conducted and published in an ethical manner.
- Research integrity: The journal only considers manuscripts that report original research that has been conducted in an ethical manner. The journal expects authors to conduct their research with integrity and to follow recognized ethical guidelines, such as those outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki, the Belmont Report, and the International Ethical Guidelines for Health-related Research Involving Humans.
- Informed consent: For studies involving human subjects, the journal requires that authors obtain informed consent from participants. The journal expects authors to follow recognized ethical guidelines for obtaining informed consent, such as those outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki.
- Conflict of interest: The journal requires authors to disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to their research, including any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
- Plagiarism: The journal not tolerate plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism. The journal expect authors to submit original work that has not been published previously. Each article is checked in the anti-plagiarism system also in terms of the use of AI in the text. By 2023 system Plagiat.pl was used. Since 2024 system iThenticate has been in use.
- Data integrity: The journal expects authors to report their findings accurately and to provide access to the underlying data upon request. The journal will investigate any allegations of data falsification or fabrication.
- Authorship: The journal expects authors to follow recognized guidelines for authorship, especially those outlined by Modern Management Review: https://journals.prz.edu.pl/mmr/about/submissions.
- Each author provides the statement of copyright to the text and is obliged to indicated who contributed to the work and in what capacity. The journal will investigate any allegations of ghostwriting or guest authorship. In conflict cases the decision is made by the editor-in-chief in consultation with the members of the Editorial
- Peer review: The journal expects reviewers to conduct their reviews in an ethical and constructive manner, and to disclose any potential conflicts of interest, especially those outlined by: https://journals.prz.edu.pl/mmr/recenzja.
- Review form is available here. Eligibility or rejection criteria are included in the review form.
- Each reviewer and reviewer submits the reviewer's declaration of no conflict of interest. The reviewer is obliged to inform the editorial office of the journal about the occurrence of a conflict of interest.
The journal will investigate any allegations of misconduct or bias in the peer review process. The journal helps to promote the highest standards of research integrity and ensures that published research is conducted in an ethical and responsible manner.

The Journal allows debate post publication e.g. through open access social media and mails to the Editor-in-Chief and the Editor is responsible for preparing the response and also manages the entire communication process with the authors.

JOURNAL MANAGEMENT POLICY
DUTIES OF EDITORS
Editor-in-Chief
- The editor is responsible for deciding which of the submitted articles should or should not be published.
- The decision to accept or reject a paper for publication is based on its importance, originality, clarity, and its relevance to the scope of the journal.
- The editor may be guided by the policy of the journal's editorial committee, as well as legal requirements governing matters of defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. When making decisions regarding publication, the editor may consult with other members of the editorial board and reviewers.
- The editor maintains the standards adopted in academic publications, excludes practices that jeopardize ethical and intellectual norms, publish corrections, clarifications, cancellations and apologies when needed.
- The editor and the members of the editorial board must ensure that all materials submitted to the journal remain confidential while under review. They must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher.
- The Editor is responsible for preparing the response to the authors and also manages the entire communication process with them.
Editorial Board
- The Editorial Board publishes applicable instructions related to editorial work, makes efforts to improve the quality of the journal and supports pluralism and freedom of expression in the scientific field.
- The Editorial Board is monitoring the ethical standards of scientific publications and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices.
- To prevent misconduct in science (ghostwriting, guest authorship), the Editorial board has introduced appropriate procedures specific to the disciplines represented and has taken the following measures:
- The editors will require the contributions from the authors in the creation of the article (with their affiliation and the following information: who the author of the concept is, objectives, research, etc.); the primary responsibility will be borne by the person submitting the article.
- The editors will explain the concept of ghostwriting and guest authorship to the authors, which are a manifestation of scientific misconduct, and any detected cases of this type of action on the part of the authors will be revealed, including the notification of the appropriate bodies.
- The editors will obtain information about the sources of publications funding, contribution to research institutions and other bodies (financial disclosure).
- The editors will document all forms of scientific misconduct, especially breaking the rules of conduct obligatory in science.
Authors
- Authors should follow guidelines provided on the Journal website: https://journals.prz.edu.pl/mmr/about/submissions.
- The texts delivered to Editor cannot be published in other publishing company. Authors should not publish a manuscript describing essentially the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.
- The author is obliged to provide an original work that cannot constitute plagiarism or self-plagiarism in any part (all or parts of books published in other publishing houses). All borrowings, quotations, tables and comments used in the text should be accompanied by appropriate footnotes. Plagiarism and fraudulent data is not acceptable.
- Authors may be asked to provide the raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data.
- When subitting the text to the editorial office, the author provides a statement of copyright to the text based on CC BY licence.
- When an author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in his or her own published work, it is the author's responsibility to immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with them to withdraw the article or publish the appropriate erratum.
